The body that will not stay still
The Cycle recapped: Meg’s investigation, her father’s secret and the final experiment. Major spoilers.

Open the recap & discussion — spoilers
A forensic examination draws Meg into a mystery connecting a series of killings with her missing father.
A body from Meg’s past
After a mother and daughter are killed, police ask forensic anthropologist Meg to examine a third body: her father Peter, who disappeared during her childhood. The body is unusually well preserved.
Clues that do not fit
Meg finds bite marks consistent with human and non-human teeth. More deaths follow, and a survivor, Bishop, says he can sense a creature on full-moon nights.
Peter’s body transforms
Peter’s corpse reanimates and becomes a werewolf at the police morgue. Meg realizes the creature remains in its host after death, explaining the body’s preservation and movement.
Peter’s attempt to protect his family
At Peter’s cabin, Meg finds evidence that he tried rituals, silver and confinement to control his condition. In a recording he apologizes for leaving and says he took his own life hoping to keep his family safe.
The experiment continues
Meg impales the creature near sunrise, and it returns to Peter’s corpse. Later she and Marks keep the chained body under observation; Meg records that she will try a further dose of aconitum at the next full moon if necessary.
The ending turns apparent victory into an ongoing attempt to understand and contain the cycle.
